Pantone pen and pencil on watercolour paper, found shelving unit, chair, green masking tape, oak veneer.

Variable dimensions.

Made on a residency in Port Townsend, USA, the drawings within the work are scientific graphs of a group of artists’ blind spots, drawn over a basic horizon line. The drawings were then exhibited on the back of an old found cabinet whose horizontal shelf echoed the horizon of the seascape that the artists engaged with during the residency period. The work responds to an on-going interest in the horizontal versus vertical axes as metaphors, through Bataille and Freud, of nature/culture and dream respectively, and charts what the visual might miss, with the inclusion of the audience of the work through the addition of the chair.
