This work was made in response to an invitation to be part of Mobility and Identity, in Patras, Greece. The brief was work that explores the traces that mobility leaves on identity. Having just returned from a project in Carrara, my pursuits had left their own traces criss-crossed on my feet from walking up the Carrarese mountains in Roman sandals. This criss-cross pattern echoed the wicker I have been working with recently, and its notions of picnicing and mobility in relation to leisure.
